About Us
Prevention Works is a dynamic program dedicated to promoting workforce development, life skill planning, and substance use prevention among youth. We aim to empower young individuals by providing them with part-time employment opportunities, essential skill-building activities and Job Coaches to provide mentoring.
Job Summary
The Program Director will oversee the employment of 3 job coaches and up to 40 youth participants in 2025. The Program Director will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the program, promoting workforce development, life skill planning, and substance use prevention. This role involves managing all aspects of the program, including background checks, legal matters, public relations, budget management, program reports, partnerships, and future sustainability.
Key Responsibilities

Direct the employment and supervision of 3 job coaches a team life coach and PR specialist and up to 40 youth participants.

Develop and implement program strategies to promote workforce development, life skill planning, and substance use prevention.

Conduct background checks and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.

Manage public relations efforts to promote the program and its successes.

Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial sustainability.

Prepare and submit program reports to stakeholders and funding agencies.

Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders.

Plan for the future sustainability of the program, including securing funding and resources.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to job coaches and youth participants.

Foster a collaborative and high-quality team environment, ensuring that all team members are working effectively together.

Coordinate transportation services for youth participants to ensure they can attend program activities.

Work closely with parents and school officials to support the youth participants' development and success.

Plan and organize trips and celebrations to enhance the program experience and reward participants for their achievements.

Must have car and computer and cell phone for communications
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or lived experience (e.g., Education, Counseling, Social Work, Public Administration).

Previous experience in program management, youth development, or workforce development desired.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Knowledge of substance use prevention strategies and resources.

Ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.

Experience in budget management and financial planning.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the program and participants.
