This month, New Vision is excited to announce that we have been awarded $1,500,000 from the FHLBank Affordable Housing Program (AHP) to help fund an inspiring new project: a tiny home village designed specifically to support foster youth and at-risk youth.
This transformative community will include 24 tiny homes along with critical resources to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for young people who need it most. These funds provide New Vision an additional 10 units and the infrastructure needed. With the addition of cash we have the funding secured for 16 of the 24 units that will make up the village.
We currently have one unit built and 5 foundations in place. So help with the final eight is appreciated.
New Vision Village will feature a village center where residents can access essential wraparound services such as counseling, life skills training, and educational support. The laundry mat and community kitchen and commons area for gatherings and celebrations. Along with the housing New Vision workforce development project also provide jobs build tiny houses.
While the AHP award is a significant step forward, the total cost of this project is approximately $4 million, which means we still need to raise $1.5 million to make this vision a reality. This is where we need your help.
