A New Beginning: Breaking Ground on the New Vision Girls Village

On April 22, 2026, following a full day of collaboration, celebration, and progress, New Vision Renewable Energy (NVRE) marked an exciting new chapter by breaking ground on the New Vision Girls Tiny House Village. This milestone represents the next step in expanding New Vision’s mission to support young people aging out of foster care through stable housing, mentorship, and community in Appalachia.

Located just outside Philippi, West Virginia, the future site of the Girls Village sits on a beautiful stretch of landl, with rolling hills, open skies, and a peaceful landscape that will soon become home to a new kind of community. Once complete, the Village will include 15 tiny homes, designed as a multigenerational living environment where young women ages 18–25 can live alongside older women who feel called to mentor, guide, and walk with them through this important season of life.

The groundbreaking ceremony was a meaningful and faith-filled moment. Leaders including Gayle Manchin and others shared remarks to commemorate the occasion, speaking to the importance of expanding support for young women in transition across West Virginia. Attendees then joined together in a hands-on act of dedication, planting two dogwood trees at the entrance of the property, symbolizing growth, new beginnings, and the lives that will one day take root in this space.

As with the Boys Village, this project will be built through the support of a committed community. Construction is set to begin this year, and there is an opportunity for many to be part of bringing this vision to life.

If you feel led to support the New Vision Girls Village, we invite you to get involved. Visit our donation page to contribute or explore opportunities to volunteer with us this summer as we begin building these homes and this community.
