New Vision Awarded $1.5 Million Grant to Launch Girls Tiny House Village

We are filled with gratitude to share that New Vision has been awarded a $1.5 million Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from FHL Bank Pittsburgh to support the development of the New Vision Girls Tiny House Village. Out of 160 competitive applications, FHL Bank Pittsburgh funded only 51 AHP projects and 24 voluntary housing initiatives, making this award a powerful affirmation of the work happening here.

The Girls Village will be modeled after the Boys Village and designed to serve young women and adults in transition, especially those impacted by foster care and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Research shows that individuals with higher ACE scores often face greater barriers to housing stability, employment, and community support. This tiny house village is intentionally designed to help fill those gaps.

The Village will include 15 homes in a multi-generational community, 10 for young women in transition and 5 for adult mentors, along with shared spaces that encourage connection, accountability, and growth. Beyond housing, the Village integrates employment pathways, workforce training, and mentorship, creating a holistic environment where residents can heal, build confidence, and step into independence.

We are deeply thankful to FHL Bank Pittsburgh for their partnership and belief in this vision. This grant allows us to move forward with hope as we continue building communities that offer stability, dignity, and opportunity to those navigating life transitions.
