Pool Parties and Drug Prevention

Over 200 people. One night. Zero drugs. That’s something to celebrate!

On July 8th, New Vision and the Bright Futures Barbour County Substance Use Prevention Coalition hosted a completely free pool night at the Philippi Swimming Pool—and the turnout was incredible!

With over 200 kids, teens, and adults diving in for some fun, plus plenty of pizza to go around, this night was all about showing that healthy, drug-free fun does exist in our community—and it matters. When youth have access to safe, positive spaces and supportive adults, they’re more likely to thrive.

Barbour County may not have a lot of resources yet, but New Vision is working to change that—one joyful, splash-filled night at a time.
