Fellowship with Convoy of Hope

Saturday, November 4th was a busy day in Barbour County with 36 Christian Leaders from 14 different Churches and non profit organizations gathered with Mr. Kary Kingsland and Scott Collier leaders from Convoy of Hope and their Rural Initiatives team. The group spent the day together from 9am-3pm interacting learning and sharing . The R.A.I.S.E. training developed by Convoy of Hope inspired leaders to think of ways to relate and integrate a variety of proactive approaches to identifying and addressing a variety of needs in the area. Convoy of Hope, is one of our nations leading relief and development non profit organizations, based in Springfield, Missouri.

Along with the valuable training, all the churches and organizations divided a valuable tractor trailer of supplies delivered to the county and distributed at the Barbour County Fair Grounds. The event was co-sponsored by Haven of Hope and Peoples Chapel Church and the Barbour County Ministerial Association. All the groups involved are active in trying to address the negative effects of substance use and abuse.

For more information on how you or your church might get involved call 304-457-2971.
